About the tool

For investors, analysts, and research developers who need to inspect US-listed companies’ regulatory filings. Ask for a company’s latest 10-K or 10-Q, a particular 8-K event, or search filing text for a phrase; the MCP can read filings in chunks, search filing text, and query XBRL company facts, insider transactions, 13D/13G ownership, and institutional 13F holdings. Install and configure the uvx package locally in an MCP client; the project says no API key is needed, and a SEC_USER_AGENT identifying the requester is recommended. Data comes from SEC EDGAR, but this is a third-party tool and is not affiliated with the SEC. Tools are read-only and do not trade. It adds direct filing and structured-fact research to a directory whose existing broker and quote connectors cover that workflow less directly. Documentation was reviewed; the package was not installed or run.

  • The project says no API key is required; local uvx package and MCP client setup are required.
  • Read-only; it does not trade or place orders.
  • The README gives inconsistent tool counts (23 in its opening, 22 in About and the tools heading), so no fixed count is asserted.
